The Chico Seed Orchard began its life in 1904 and is still going strong. While its primary purpose is to provide seed to enhance reforestation efforts and promote gene conservation, it also makes for a wonderful recreation spot. Bird watchers will love its convenience, people traveling with dogs love it as a great place for an on-leash walk, and there’s an accessible 1-mile nature trail that provides a self-guided tour of the orchard. A beautiful piece of Chico history, the Seed Orchard is a must-stop for nature lovers.
