Enjoy the water by swimming in Sycamore Pool (actually part of the creek!) at the One Mile Recreation Area, or find various shallow spots along Chico Creek.
Please Note: While the season for supervised swimming is currently over, and summers have required swimming ordinances, we encourage visitors to enjoy the water during designated seasons and always observe posted signage for water safety and regulations.
Additionally, please help preserve the riparian ecosystem by avoiding the building of 'check dams.'
Lower park is designed for gathering and fun! Take advantage of the many picnic sites available to grill a meal and gather with friends and family. Dedicated playgrounds are perfect for kids, including the famous, magical Caper Acres near the One Mile Recreation Area.
The Chico Area Recreation and Park District (CARD) frequently utilizes the park grounds to host events year-round, making Lower Park a true community hub.

Important Safety Note: Please look but do not touch or consume any wild mushrooms, as many toxic varieties (including the highly poisonous Death Cap) grow in the area.
