Big Chico Creek Ecological Reserve, located on Mechoopda Indian Tribe ancestral land, is shepherded by Chico State Enterprises. At almost 8,000 acres of habitats, BCCER is home to many animals and local plants, and flower- and wildlife-observing are available in BCCER’s public access areas (walk-in only). They’re also wonderful spots for a hike or nature walk, showcasing the reserve’s canyon and ridge habitats.
